This class is intended for returnees and will be taught at returnee level.
Students who are returnees are asked to enrol in this class and not in the Developing Countries'class.
1.Class work:
Work in this class will be centred on small groups, usually pairs.Each pair will choose a topic of interest and study it using books,magazines &newspapers and the Internet.Some of this work will be done in class.
Every three weeks the groups will have presentations in which each group will explain their chosen topic to the rest of the class.These presentations need to be interactive and groups will distribute handouts and quizzes to encourage participation.
In addition to the topic itself,each group will need to explain the history and roots of some of the English words and names they have been using.
2.Repuirements:
Regular attendance on time is important and will form part of the total grade.Other,no less important requirements,are participation in discussions and well prepared,interesting presentations.Presentations will be judged both on the individual and on the group level.
